May Synopsis
May started wet and on the cold side. The first week saw rainfall
amounts typical of May storms and temperatures cool but not exceptionally cold for May. Then a very brief hot spell,
with the temperature reaching 88F on the 8th, the earliest ever for an 85F or higher temperature, and then a drop
into more seasonable temperatures but remaining dry thru the remainder of the month with a brief sprinkle on the
21st, being the third driest May in the past ten years and the coldest May since 2002.
